The Orca XL takes everything people love about the Orca (the sea foam bio-acetate, the wide-square silhouette, the quiet confidence) and gives it a larger fit for broader faces and bigger heads. Nothing about it shouts "bigger". It simply sits right where a standard frame might have pinched.

The frame is crafted from Italian Mazzucchelli bio-acetate, the same plant-derived material trusted by the world's most respected luxury eyewear houses. Bio-acetate is richer in colour than mass-produced plastic, ages beautifully into a soft patina, and is kinder to the planet than its petroleum-based cousin. It wears the same translucent sea foam as the original Orca: somewhere between warm cream and ocean spray, the kind of neutral that flatters every skin tone but still has a pulse.

The XL also gets a lens of its own. G15 grey-green CR39 polarised lenses are the classic tint that serious sunglass wearers swear by. They let through around 15% of visible light, cut glare cleanly and keep colours true, so the fynbos stays green and the Atlantic stays blue, whether you're watching the swell at Muizenberg or squinting down the N2 at 5pm. CR39 is the lens material opticians reach for first. Lighter than glass, optically sharper than most polycarbonate, and the gold standard for visual clarity.

The Wombat wordmark sits engraved on the temple. Present, never loud. Reinforced metal hinges keep them snug for the long haul, and the 53mm lenses, 18mm bridge and 145mm arms give a fit that feels made for you, not squeezed onto you.
